MoB Kids: Dream Build with Megan McKean

A force of creativity and spirit, Megan McKean is an artist, designer, illustrator and author.  Megan’s distinctive illustration style can be seen on the McKean Studio silk souvenir scarves, cheerful enamel pins, fine letterpress prints, and illustrated children’s books. Drawing from her passion for bright colours and travel, Megan is best known for her cheerful depictions of ordinary, yet remarkable places.

Budding architects can create their own dream Queenslander using a template designed by Megan. The distinctive architecture of Brisbane’s timber and tin homes has had a whimsical makeover by Megan in this DIY art project where you colour, cut and build a three-dimensional paper house.

You will need:

  • Printer and A4 paper
  • Scissors
  • Colouring in pencils or pens
  • Glue stick

How to:

  1. Download the Dream Build template below
  2. Print the activity onto two sheets of A4 paper
  3. Colour in, cut out, fold, glue and assemble your very own Queenslander!
