Opening 22 March 2025, just ahead of the school holidays, Museum of Brisbane is launching Micro Museum—a hands-on creative space where you become the curator! Inspired by Precious, which showcases over 3,000 collected objects, Micro Museum invites children and visitors of all ages to select, sort, arrange and present their curated collection from a range of mini vintage and second-hand treasures.
Museum of Brisbane is seeking expressions of interest for volunteers to assist in invigilation and maintenance of this new space during the Autumn School Holidays and beyond that would like to be part of the MoB community.
Volunteers’ tasks will be as follow but not limited to:
The volunteer program would start April 2025 to early 2026 with the possibility of extension.
Volunteer facilitated sessions will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30am-1:00pm. Scheduling will be based on volunteer availability, with no minimum number of hours per week of commitment required.
Expressions of Interest will be accepted in multiple rounds throughout the year.
Museum of Brisbane will provide a mandatory induction at the start of the program. Ongoing training will be offered throughout the program as required.
