Stories You Wear: Gel Plate Printing with Jason Murphy

Layer colour, texture and pattern into a print that’s entirely your own.

Join Jinibara artist Jason Murphy for a hands-on workshop exploring the playful, expressive world of gel plate printing. You’ll be guided through the process of building layered prints using colour, texture and found materials – an intuitive technique that invites experimentation and creativity. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to explore.

Across the session, Jason will share his approach to pattern, repetition and mark-making, helping you develop your own unique series of prints to take home.

This November, Museum of Brisbane’s Stories You Wear: Magpie Goose exhibition celebrates one year of connecting audiences with the rich and diverse cultural expressions of First Peoples communities in Queensland and beyond.

Also on 21 November

Join Amanda Hayman, co-owner of Magpie Goose, for a No Waste Jewellery workshop and turn Magpie Goose fabric scraps into wearable art. Drop in for a short visit or stay for the full two-hour session. You’ll leave with your own one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces and inspiration to see waste in a whole new light.
