An initiative of the Museum of Brisbane (MoB), BAD champions the movers and shakers of the Brisbane art and design sector, and spotlights our thriving cultural identity through the places, histories and climate that bring our collective creativity to the fore.
BRISBANE ART DESIGN (BAD) 2021 will be profiling over 60 venues across four weekends in May. A feature of BAD 2021 is a curated program of outdoor interventions by Queensland artists and designers. These works will punctuate BAD neighbourhood with creative outcomes in unexpected places, allowing audiences an immersive experience in the creative process via an open-air exploration of art and design.
Over the course of three weeks, visit Museum of Brisbane to catch 23 participants as they draw and paint on a large purpose-built environment guided by a series of prompts delivered via a big screen.
RMXTV is the latest in the RMX series of collaborative art projects exploring the creative potential of chaos and chance. RMXTV will be a highlight event as part of Brisbane Art Design (BAD), from 7-30 May 2021.
RMXTV participants will discover new ideas, explore unknown processes and learn to harness the power of the unexpected. Guided by the host Steve Alexander, artists will work alone or in small groups, layering their efforts over the last, creating an ever-changing collaborative artwork. Day after day, audiences can witness the space being modified, added to and erased.
Visitors are asked to bring a sketchbook or an iPad to follow along with the prompts, or try remixing for themselves with the STICKRMX interactive sticker activity. No matter their age or perceived drawing abilities, the audience are asked to take a risk and bring excitement back into making art.
