MoB Learn FAQs

Who are MoB Learn Programs and MoB Learn Experiences designed for?

MoB Learn aims to support lifelong learners through the design of quality, age-appropriate educational experiences and content that works across various home, community, early childhood, school, university and museum settings.

What safety information do you have?

You can request our risk management plan and/ or a copy of our Public Liability Certificate. If you have any other questions about safety please contact us.

Is there a place to eat lunch at the Museum?

As food and drink cannot be consumed in the Museum, we suggest these nearby locations for you and your class to enjoy your breaks:

  • King George Square
  • Roma Street Parklands
  • Anzac Square
Can our class bring school bags?

Museum of Brisbane will provide the learning resources required for your visit. We recommend students bring a bag on the day with any personal items they will require including lunch, water bottle, camera/phone and a pencil. All bags will be securely cloaked for the duration of the visit. Any first aid or medication may stay with the group and we recommend a small side bag if possible.

How many adults need to come on the excursion?

Given the size of City Hall we ask that groups be supervised at all times by the appropriate number of adults for the safety of all students. This ratio is particularly important when travelling in lifts between the ground floor and Museum of Brisbane on Level 3. Please arrange the following:

  • 1 adult per 4 students (Prep – Grade 3)
  • 1 adult per 10 students (Grades 4 – 6)
  • 1 adult per 20 students (Grades 7 – 12)
  • 1 adult per student with additional needs
Can students take photos?

To ensure the safety of the artworks, and in consideration of other visitors, we ask that no flash photography or as otherwise directed be taken in the Museum.

What facilities and services are there available for people with a disability?

The following services are available at Museum of Brisbane.  Please let us know if you require any of these services when you book:

  • Non-motorised wheelchairs for loan via the Mobility Centre, ground level of City Hall
  • Accessible toilets on all levels of City Hall and within the Museum on Level 3
  • Please note that wheelchair access is not available for the Clock Tower, as there are narrow stairs with railings to access the viewing platform.

Where do I meet the Learn Team when I arrive at Museum of Brisbane?

When you arrive for your visit to the Museum of Brisbane, please wait outside in King George Square. If the weather is inclement, your group should wait on either side of the portico. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before the scheduled visit to allow students an opportunity to have a snack and/or use the restrooms located on the ground floor of City Hall. Our Museum Educators will greet you in King George Square before assisting the group into the Museum. Students may bring paper/worksheets, pencils, and cameras if they would like however all required learning materials will be provided during the visit.

If you have a question not answered above, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
