Young Writer’s Workshop with Victoria Carless

Do you know an aspiring young writer looking to get a head start in their career?

Join award-winning playwright Victoria Carless for an intensive writing workshop aimed at budding authors aged 12-17 years old. In this workshop we’ll look at the building blocks of storytelling and channel your imagination toward:

• exploring setting and worldbuilding
• creating relatable and memorable (but not perfect) characters
• plotting scenes and chapters for your project
• weaving in symbol and metaphor so your story is layered/contains imagery

You will leave with a written scene from your larger story and tools to inspire you to continue your project after the workshop is done.

Bring your imagination and your writing materials and we’ll provide one of our storytellers all morning.

Please note: A snack will be provided during this session, however we recommend packing a lunch for your young person on the day. Please inform Museum of Brisbane of any dietary requirements at time of booking.
