The Pattern & The Little Collab

Over the holidays, Briony Barr’s Tape It! participatory tape installation expands into the Fairfax Gallery, with two new collaborative drawing activities.

The Pattern

This one is all about the rules. Depending on the tape colour you pick, you will be in one of two teams whose lines can never overlap! The drawing will be made by ripping tape into short pieces to create curvy lines and loops. Using ‘wormholes’, tape lines can space jump between two different drawing surfaces.

The Pattern is suitable for ages 10 years and up.

The Little Collab

On the Fairfax Gallery windows, The Little Collab is a free-draw zone where the rules fall away, and the glass surface becomes a transparent canvas. Contribute to a collaborative drawing that will transform daily as the holidays go on.

The Little Collab is suitable for all ages (collaboration is encouraged for ages 6 years and under!).

Both activities will be ‘undrawn’ at different stages to create more space, and the harvested tape will be used to make sculptures as part of the installation.

Every piece of tape adds to the story, so come and leave your mark!
