Panel Discussion: Selling the Sunshine City

Brisbane has been lauded as the gateway to the tropics.

An Eden brimming with pineapples, sun soaked leisure seekers and perennially good weather, but how much of our City’s picture perfect identity is just a PR campaign leftover from the 50s?

Unpick the city behind the advertising slogans in this panel discussion that challenges Brisbane’s cultural identity. From artistic interpretations to advertising campaigns, this lively panel will untangle fact from fiction in a 60 minute creative discussion that will investigate who we really are as a city.

Sub-tropical paradise or something else entirely? You be the judge when you join us on Thursday 24 June for Selling the Sunshine City.

Featuring:

Sebastian Moody: Exhibiting artist, City in the Sun
Leanne Coddington: CEO Tourism and Events Queensland
Marianne O’Brien: Managing Partner Creative Clemenger
Marie-Louise Thiele: Creative Director James Street
