women of brisbane: judy watson

Artist Judy Watson’s book, women of brisbane, draws together stories of women, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, who have shaped Brisbane’s history. Launched on International Women’s Day 2021 at the Museum of Brisbane,  Watson’s book documents, for the first time, the narratives of the women who shaped our city.  Through a collection of stories shared by historians, writers, descendants and members of the community, women of brisbane captures the hearts and minds of 180 of Brisbane’s most influential figures from political activists to slam poets, remarkable elders to defiant mothers. women of brisbane: judy watson was designed by Michael Phillips and published by Museum of Brisbane.
