Brisbane Now and Then

An immersive program focused on the history and development of Brisbane.

Travel back to a time when horse-drawn trams traversed Brisbane streets and children bathed in the Brisbane River. This popular program provides opportunities for students to develop historical understanding through key curriculum concepts.

Inclusions

Museum of Brisbane Tour
Complete a guided tour of social history exhibitions exploring significant people, places and moments in Brisbane’s history and how our lives have changed.

Historical Object Handling Workshop
Compare objects and photographs from the past and present in our object handling workshop. Gain an understanding of how toys, transport and technology have changed over time.

City Hall Tour
Discover the history and importance of the heritage-listed City Hall on a tour of the ‘People’s Place’. Immerse your students in Brisbane’s history with a tour of the heritage-listed building.
