About the artists

Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan are Filipino born artists who are currently based in Brisbane. They create work that focuses on the collection and reassembling of materials, which often involves public participation.

Their nation-touring exhibition, In-Habit: Project Another Country, (which pays homage to the Badjao Filipino sea gypsies), is an interactive project that invites local communities to populate the gallery with self-made cardboard box houses. This results in a makeshift and ever-growing village within the space.
