Workshop: Figure in the landscape

Take part in a hands-on masterclass with artist Euan Macleod and paint en plein air (in the open air) with the artist on the picturesque cliffs of Kangaroo Point. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a workshop with the well-known painter who rarely leads classes anymore.

In his new exhibition, Archibald Prize winner Macleod explores the restlessness and vulnerability of figures in the landscapes. His rapid approach to painting and richly layered brush-strokes allows him to capture the atmosphere: the billowing clouds, storm fronts, sunshine on the water at dusk and the unmistakable Australian coastal bushlands.

Investigate your own practice with Euan and explore issues of the figure, ground and documenting en plein air. This workshop is suitable for participants with some art-making experience.

Please note that there are limited places for this workshop and it is suitable for ages 15 years and over.

Materials are not supplied. Bring materials you feel comfortable using and can carry from the adjacent car park. Acrylic, watercolour and drawing materials are recommended, not oils.
