Artist-in-Residence: Elizabeth Willing

Elizabeth Willing is a Brisbane-based artist who uses food as her primary subject and material. For more than 10 years, Elizabeth has been creating edible installations, food sculptures, paintings as well as experiential dining events engaging audiences through smell, taste, sight and touch.

Drawing attention to the influences on our food consumption, Elizabeth will develop a body of print works, which begin with food items as stamps. Exploring the potential for food to function as painting tools and sign systems.

As well as working on a large-scale collage using hand cut images during her time in The Studio, Elizabeth plans to delve into other practices including ceramics and wood carving.

The Artist-in-Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC.

This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
