School holiday fun at Museum of Brisbane
School holidays start on Monday and its time to spend some quality time together exploring Brisbane!
Plan a big trip to the City, get crafty or enjoy a day out exploring Brisbane’s wildlife. We’ve got plenty on offer to keep the little ones entertained and engaged these school holidays.
To kick things off, next week we are running a free boat building workshops for kids. We have over 20,000 paddle pop sticks and boxes full of crafty colourful fun, including pom poms, feathers, pipe cleaners, colour foam shapes and sequins. Kids are encouraged to use their imagination and create their own boat – perfect for floating down the creek.
Looking for something more adventurous? Book your kids into our Ecology for children workshop and discover our local flora and fauna. Led by wildlife biologist, Carla Archibald, this hands-on workshop takes your kids on an adventure through the river habitat of Norman Park, teaching them about the area’s ecology including the different plants and animals that call Norman Creek home. Buy a $15* ticket for your child and the accompanying adult can enjoy all the fun for free.
Museum of Brisbane is a great place to visit on the school holidays. You can also take you kids on a tour up the City Hall Clock Tower, explore the history of Brisbane through our various exhibitions and have a delicious cupcake and cuppa at Shingle Inn.
Please note, tickets for Clock Tower Tours are free but book very fast during school holidays. To ensure you get a ticket, pop in as early as possible (up to 3 hours waits have occurred during extremely busy periods).
There is a heap of other fun stuff happening around Brisbane these school holidays. Check out the Brisbane City Council website for more details.
