Brisbane Open House Weekend

We’ve got a great line up of events and tours this weekend suitable for everyone!

For the kids, why not discover an ancient photography technique used by Robyn Stacey in our family-friendly children’s Upside-down and back-to-front: DIY Pin-hole viewers workshop. Children will get hands-on with this simple, free workshop to help understand how the images in our new photographic exhibition Robyn Stacey: Cloud Land were made.

We also have the unique opportunity for visitors to step straight in to a work of art in our Camera obscura experience. Museum of Brisbane will transform one of Hilton Hotel Brisbane‘s impressive executive suites into a camera obscura allowing you to experience the magic of an obscura first hand and witness how light travels through a pin-hole. The experience will show how the artist creates the images in Robyn Stacey: Cloud Land. While you’re there, you can taste the upside-down and back-to-front Toffee Apple S’more dessert created by Hilton Brisbane’s head chef specially for the event.

Back at Museum of Brisbane, there will be Museum, City Hall and Clock Tower tours throughout both days of the weekend. Let our experienced guides walk you through the current exhibitions, learn something about the art, architecture and history of City Hall, or take a ride in the oldest elevator in the city to the rooftop and absorb the unique view of Brisbane from 76 metres above!

We hope to see you at one of our Brisbane Open House weekend experiences!
