Dear [firstname,fallback=friend]

Since reopening as an independent, not-for-profit organisation in 2013, Museum of Brisbane has welcomed almost one million local and international visitors. We are a place for the people of Brisbane; for social interaction, idea generation and knowledge exchange. We are your museum, and we need your support.

In the past 12 months alone Museum of Brisbane has opened the doors to nine new exhibitions, but beyond this, we play a crucial role in the life of our city.  As someone who has enjoyed public programs and events at the Museum, we know that you understand how these kinds of opportunities can not only create a deeper sense of engagement with our core programming, but also help the Museum expand its impact on the social and economic growth of Brisbane.  Since July 2015 we have:

  • collaborated with 242 individuals and groups
  • engaged 188 artists and arts workers
  • added 24 artworks to the collection
  • developed a new primary school education program, Brisbane Now & Then, supporting knowledge of our own city’s history in local children
  • delivered 57 public programs and 244 Museum highlights tours to more than 12,000 people
  • conducted our first tours in languages other than English, supporting our mission to be a welcoming place for every Brisbane resident

As we look to the future, our vision is to strengthen and increase opportunities to become an active participant in the life of our city. By exploring, presenting and encouraging discussion about all that is Brisbane, we will play a leading role in celebrating our city’s rich identity.

To deliver this vision, the Museum needs your support. We rely on your generosity to develop education programs, create new work in collaboration with local artists, and engage with diverse communities through programs both in and outside of the Museum.

Will you consider donating before the end of the financial year? Whether small or large, your support is an investment in the cultural fabric of our city.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible, and can be made online or by downloading our donation form.

We would welcome any opportunity to talk with you personally about our future vision for the Museum, and for our city.

We look forward to welcoming you again to the Museum.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Denham
