Teacher’s notes

Robyn Stacey: Cloud Land links with senior physics as the exhibition explores the camera obscura and demonstrates how light travels. Stacey’s work can also be used as stimulus within literacy and visual arts and offers a different perspective to contemporary photography for students.


Short story competition

Be inspired by Robyn Stacey: Cloud Land and encourage your students to enter a short story to win!

The competition invites students to imagine photographs are taken from a scene in a movie. They are then asked to write about what will happen next.

The competition is open to students between the ages of 12 and 18.


Curator tour

Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $9.90 per student

Students can gain a greater understanding of Robyn Stacey’s work, her methods and inspiration with a curator tour.


Creative writing workshop

Duration: full day
Cost: $16.50 per student

Take a tour of the exhibition and then be inspired by local author Kathleen Noud as she shares tips on how to transform an initial idea into a fantastic short story. Explore character, setting, dialogue and theme.
