Brisbane In A Suitcase

An incursion offering investigating the changes and development of Brisbane through a selection of objects. Delivered by our team of Museum Educators in your classroom.

Program Overview
We are packing our suitcases and traveling to your classroom to take students on a journey back in time to when horse drawn trams traversed Brisbane streets and children bathed in the Brisbane River.This incursion program provides opportunities for students to develop historical understanding through key concepts.

Step into the role of a Museum Curator with a magnifying glass in hand as you compare and investigate original objects and photographs from the past and present. Understand how toys, transport and technology have changed over time via hands-on learning as we bring the Museum to you.

Program Details

Audience: Primary, Suitable for Grades Prep – 6
Curriculum Areas: Humanities and Social Sciences
Fees: $320 per session
*all fees are GST inclusive.
Supervising adults free.
Duration: 60 minutes
Options: Incursion


This facilitated 60 minute workshop allows students to handle and investigate objects from Brisbane’s past. Gain an understanding of the impact of technology on toys, transport and household objects.  All delivered in your classroom by our team of Museum Educators.
