Camerata Live

Join Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra as they perform a dynamic original score inspired by City in the Sun.

After four weeks of musical play and composition, Camerata’s immersive residency at Museum of Brisbane will culminate on Friday 20 August in an exquisite evening of music.

Take a stroll through the Museum after dark and feel City in the Sun come alive with the magic of music as Camerata’s eight-piece ensemble perform their original score inspired by the exhibition.

Stay on for an In Conversation with exhibition curator Miranda Hine and Camerata’s Artistic Director Brendan Joyce, as they journey through the themes and inspirations of City in the Sun. 

There will be drinks and snacks available to purchase in venue.

About Camerata

Performing without a conductor, Camerata proudly takes full ownership of their music-making in the spirit of chamber music to form a thriving, refreshing and acclaimed voice to empower artists, inspire audiences and enrich communities through music. With a reputation for innovation and interesting and adventurous programming, the ensemble, guided by Artistic Director Brendan Joyce, is flexible in its repertoire and thrives in collaborations with artists from all art forms.

Camerata employs over 130 artists across 50 concerts each year. The group of Artistic Associates is committed to providing performance and training opportunities for the next generation of Queensland artists as well as enriching communities across Queensland. This includes the commissioning of a new Australian work, free public performances, education engagements and workshops with local schools and students and visits to residents in aged care facilities.
