Brisbane City Council’s
Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside 2024

Expression of Interest have now closed.

Presented by Brisbane City Council and produced by Museum of Brisbane, Botanica is Queensland’s premier outdoor exhibition of site-specific contemporary artwork, taking place in Brisbane’s City Botanic Gardens.

Featuring artworks and installations from some of Australia’s leading contemporary artists and designers, this open-air exhibition at the nexus of art and design practice inspires conversations about our built, natural and digital environments.

Applications are welcome to be submitted by established and emerging artists, designers and architects. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTQIA+, disabled, emerging and local creatives and/or groups.  This Expression of Interest is open to local, national and international creatives and/or groups.

Who should apply?

Unsure if you should apply? If you consider yourself an artist, designer or architects, you are encouraged to apply.

We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTQIA+, disabled, emerging and local creatives and/or groups.

Undergraduate students working independently from a university submission are not eligible to apply for this program.

How many proposals can artists submit?

Artists are invited to submit a maximum of 2 proposals.
