Five full days of hands-on art, design and craft over the school holidays for your young creative. Workshops are inspired by Mao’s Last Dancer the exhibition and include a guided tour and art tuition by our qualified teachers. The Museum has school holiday fun sorted!
These summer holidays we have four fantastic Young Creatives workshops to choose from.
Shadow puppets: Marvel at the mechanics of the dancing human body and create your own company of split-pin shadow ballet puppets.

Watercolour & calligraphy: Learn the classic techniques of watercolour and calligraphy and create a scene featuring pandas, goldfish and Chinese characters.

Chinese paper lanterns: Explore a variety of materials and patterns to create an illuminated fish lantern ready to light the way for Chinese Lunar New Year.

Chinese dragon masks: Using cardboard sculpting and pattern-making techniques you’ll create a wearable dragon mask.

Each workshop runs for 3 hours and the group size is limited to 16 participants so your young creative can enjoy one-one-one art tuition by our qualified artist teachers.
Book in for a morning or afternoon session or make a day of it with free lunchtime supervision if you book for both on the same day.
