Over the past fourteen years, the Ranamok Glass Prize has become one of the best-kept secrets of the international contemporary glass scene.
An annual competition for artisans throughout Australia and New Zealand, Ranamok pushes the boundaries of this ancient art form, resulting in a stunning array of glass works.
Museum of Brisbane presented the finalists of the 2008 Prize. Ranging from the intricate and ephemeral to bold and edgy, the year’s best works in contemporary glass was displayed.
Ranamok is a celebration of sheer visual energy in glass – bought to life with vivid colour and sudden optical illusions.
