Aspiring artists and designers get hands-on to create their own artworks at our Young Creatives-in-Residence five-day holiday intensive for young people aged 8-13 years. Our Young Creatives arrive at 9.30am and stay til 4pm for a jam-packed day of arts activity and fun with the Museum’s dedicated Education team. Book a workshop for the day or the entire week, we make school holidays easy.

Tuesday 19 September – Survival Stories
Take a journey with the Yerongpan Dancers into the Indigenous food
stories of the Brisbane region and learn traditional survival techniques. Book now
Wednesday 20 September – Makey Makey Food Tech
Did you know that a banana can conduct electricity? We’ll be using a Makey Makey kit to turn everyday food items into a keyboard to explore art, science and technology. Book now
Thursday 21 September – Felt Friends
Inspired by Sean Rafferty’s Cartonographer artworks, you will create
your very own hand-made food friends from felt. Book now
Friday 22 September – Crazy Collage
Create your own art journal using a collaged landscape of food inspired
by Tastes like Sunshine artist Elizabeth Willing. Book now
