The Designers’ Guide: Easton Pearson Archive Exhibition Tour

The Designers’ Guide: Easton Pearson Archive Exhibition Tour

The Designers’ Guide: Easton Pearson Archive offers an extraordinary insight to the design process, techniques, collaborations, experiments, successes and set-backs of Brisbane designers Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson. A guided tour of the exhibition enables students to acquire knowledge of fashion culture, technologies and design by recognising and interpreting how these Australian designers used elements and principles of fashion design to create a unique design aesthetic.

In an age of “fast fashion”, The Designers’ Guide shares stories of intricate workmanship and fine detail from inspiration to finished garment, using design concepts, sketches, range plans and fabric swatches, correspondence and beaded or embroidered elements from workshops in India and Vietnam. Discover the history of this label and the careers of two talented designers at the forefront of Australian fashion from 1989 – 2016 on a guided tour that showcases a carefully curated selection of 200 garments and accessories.

The Designers’ Guide: Easton Pearson Archive Exhibition Tour is available from 23 November 2018.
